The culinary instructor will serve as a specialist and role model, teaching key skills and inspiring the YWR members to cook healthier, inexpensive meals anywhere there is a kitchen.
· Teach young women the basics of food and kitchen safety, food preparation, and making healthy choices and substitutions when cooking, according to the highlighted objectives of each workshop. Curriculum is provided if needed and lessons.
· Choose recipes that demonstrate key nutrition, food budgeting, and food preparation workshops every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. Recipes are provided by YWR if needed, or chefs can supply their own, provided they adhere to Cooking YWR criteria (healthy and low-cost).
Assign members kitchen tasks that allow each individual to gain hands-on practice and improve their cooking skills.
· Supervise members in the kitchen, encouraging proper technique and gently correcting as needed. Facilitate workshop discussions on each cooking or food safety message, allowing members to brainstorm how they might put new behaviors into action, discuss barriers to adopting new behaviors, and share ideas with their peers for overcoming barriers.

How To Apply
Vegan chefs are highly recommended and welcomed as well and those individuals who enjoy preparing meals and realize how important these young women enjoy eating healthy but just don't know where or how to begin creating a healthier lifestyle for themselves.
YWR also had a cooking curriculum prepared as well as you using your own if needed.
