Operations Director


Job Purpose

The Operations Director will be responsible for the strategic thinking and planning of the integration of communications, development, and volunteer outreach into operations.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with organizational directors (Communications, Development, Volunteer Management Director, etc.) to translate strategic plans into action (e.g., strategic processes)
  • Creating an operations budget to match the needs of the organization
  • Manages Operations team, including but not limited to: Wordpress Expert, Operations Manager, Operations Assistant, Database Administrator, and Onboarding/Offboarding Administrator (team may expand depending on needs)
  • Risk management to minimize exposure of the nonprofit
  • Regular calls or meetings with the Senior Organizational Director and the Assistant Executive Director


Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Managing of multiple projects, people, and objectives
  • Delegates responsibilities effectively
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
  • Database management
  • Strategic planning
  • Systems level planning about how operations fits into all of the work of a nonprofit
  • Knowledge of necessary software and technology used for nonprofits
  • Flexibility in availability
  • Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment


Time commitment: Minimum 15 hours per week
