About the Opportunity

Do you enjoy getting different members of your community together? Are you in search of ways to bring education to the masses? When a friend comes into town, are you eager to show them what makes DC great?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be a great fit for Knowledge Commons DC's core organizing group, the "Wonder Dojo!" We are looking for two to three more core organizers who specifically want to help plan classes. In this role, you will work with our teachers to develop course proposals into successful classes by finding a space and time, refining the lesson plan, and helping with any other logistics.

Currently, approximately 9 Dojo members set KCDC’s courses, both month-to-month and in the long term. We are responsible for programs, administration and development, and volunteer management. The Dojo also serves as KCDC’s board, providing oversight and strategic direction. We meet 1-2 times per month at various metro accessible locations across the city.

Want to Apply?

We're glad that you're interested. Send us a letter of interest to contact@knowledgecommonsdc.org-nothing too formal, and 3-4 paragraphs would suffice. Tell us:

- Why you’d be an excellent member of the organizing team.

- What you see as KCDC’s value to teachers and students, the community, or the broader realms of educational experiments and social practice art.
