Create Now is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1996. We serve vulnerable children from birth to age 24 with our healing programs in writing, visual arts, music, performing arts, fashion, culinary arts and digital media. Kids who have been abused, neglected, homeless, on probation, incarcerated and dealing with other major challenges learn to communicate in a positive manner as they bond with role models who serve as mentors. Our workshops help them to find jobs and careers.

We also prevent abuse, violence and homelessness by teaching comprehensive arts programs in Title 1, continuation and charter schools to low-income students who receive no arts education.

Each year, Create Now brings thousands of these "forgotten children," those who have fallen through the cracks, to concerts, plays and other cultural events at premiere venues in the region. In addition, we produce community projects in poverty-stricken neighborhoods, like arts festivals and mural programs. Our organization has directly reached 43,000 of the most troubled youth in Southern California during the last 21 years.

On Saturday, August 4, Create Now is hosting our 3rd Annual Power of the Arts Festival at Venice Hope Park (near the LA Convention Center and STAPLES) from 8:00 am-2:00 pm. We expect around 200-300 kids of all ages and we need help with a variety of things, like setting up tables and chairs, overseeing our arts projects, distributing toys and backpacks to the kids, organizing the Talent Show queue, guiding our guests and attendees to parking and the restrooms, and assisting with the cleanup.
