Description

The Maryland Coalition for Community Schools (MD4CS) is dedicated to expanding the community school strategy around the state of Maryland and making sure that community schools investment is defined within Maryland’s revised funding formula, as proposed by the Kirwan Commission. A compelling body of research promotes utilizing a community school strategy to address barriers to learning created by concentrated poverty and entrenched opportunity gaps that contribute to disparities among student populations around academic, health, and social/emotional outcomes.

MOST Network is seeking a Coalition Builder to help strengthen the Maryland Coalition for Community Schools (MD4CS) and expand the Community School Strategy in Maryland. This VISTA project is centered around: Communications, Partnership Development, and Fundraising and Sustainability.

  • Begin development of Community School trainings
  • Convene statewide coalition to develop priorities for 2019
