Children's Institute, Inc. helps children in Los Angeles’s most challenged communities heal from the trauma of family and community violence, build the confidence and skills to break through the barriers of poverty, and grow up to lead healthy, productive lives.

Project Description: Children's Institute is hosting a Career Day event for youth on Friday, May 11th, and are looking for volunteer facilitators to help lead a mock interview workshop in the afternoon. They need a leader as well as several supporting volunteers to work with youth at the event. L.A. Works can provide training and curriculum materials, as well as a workshop outline prior to the event.

Role & Responsibilities: Volunteers will conduct mock interviews with youth and provide feedback under the guidance of the workshop leader. A volunteer leader will be responsible for verifying volunteer attendance, and for leading the workshop. If you are interested in leading, please let us know; but if not, we need all the support we can get!

Requirements: Since this project is part of our RSVP program, volunteers must be at least 55 years of age to participate. Experience with employment coaching is helpful but not necessary; if you've ever been interviewed, we can use your help!

Accessibility: L.A. Works firmly believes that we strengthen the social fabric of our community by involving all in service. If you feel you need accommodations to participate in this project please email us at
