At the Latino Student Fund, our goal is to help at-risk children become proficient in reading and math. We need your help to make it happen. Volunteers work one-on-one with students from PreK-12th grade on Saturday mornings from 9:30am-12pm to help them build critical academic skills. There are two ways to get involved:
Permanent tutors attend every session (about 3 Saturdays each month) and work with the same student each week. It's a great way to bond with a student and see them grow!
Floater tutors act as substitutes and volunteer at least once a month.
You don’t need to speak Spanish but it’s always helpful! Advanced math and science backgrounds are also in demand. All materials are provided and we'll train you in the methods that work best for our students. We even give you coffee and snacks!
