Description

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that can really impact someone's life? If so, learn all about becoming a volunteer tutor for adults needing help with reading, writing, math, GED preparation or English as a Second Language (ESL). Attend a free 1.5 hour Orientation with the Literacy Council of Norristown. Details about the tutoring process will be presented. If this is the right opportunity for you, additional free 12-hour tutor training workshops are offered several times during the year to prepare the volunteer for tutoring. Volunteer tutors are requested to give a six-month commitment tutoring twice weekly for 1.5 hours per session, have a good command of the English language, and be easily understood.
