Norlha is an international NGO supporting remote communities in the Himalayas in sustainable development. It develops integrated projects in food security, income generation and environment protection, which have a strong focus on supporting women. Norlha is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious association based in Lausanne with offices in Geneva and Kathmandu. Currently Norlha is looking for a replacement for:

Executive Assistant

Office Manager

Volunteer/Internship position


This is a joint position and plays a crucial role in providing support to Directors and Senior Management (SM) as well as ensuring the office functioning and membership management.


Mission and activities

Executive assistant responsibilities:

  • Administrational assistance to the director
  • Emergency support to specific items
  • Organization of internal team meetings, including management meeting
  • Support to senior management team in coordination:
  • agenda reminder, prepare the room for the meetings, taking minutes
  • taking minutes and circulating them to the senior management

Office manager responsibilities:

·        Ensuring incoming communication coordination taking care of post box and email

·        Coordination of practical office needs

·        In charge of petty cash and small expenses

·        Taking care of office supplies and coordination with service providers

·        Support in organising internal and external events

Membership coordination:

·        Collecting all information related to members and donors

·        Updating system

·        Communication with the member and donors

·        Preparation of tax certificates


Candidate Profile

·        First experience in executive, administrative or organization management assistance desirable

·        Knowledge of international cooperation an asset

·        Fluency in English oral and writing a must, French an asset

·        Excellent computer and writing skills

·        Highly committed, independent and dependable person with good interpersonal skills

·        Interest in the Himalayan people and adherence to the values of Norlha

Duration and working time: Minimum 6, preferably 9 months or longer

Working time: At least 40%


This part-time, long-term Internship position is not paid and an applicant must have a legal right to do Internship in Switzerland.


Location: Norlha office in Lausanne, partial home-based work possible
