Description

Organization Overview and History: The Cleveland Seed Bank (CSB) is a project of The Hummingbird Project, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cleveland Seed Bank facilitates, educates and is building a community network of local seed savers. We partner with 3 different public library systems to host 10 seed libraries which span 3 counties in Greater Cleveland. CSB was formed to address a fundamental gap in our local food system: a regional, diverse, and community-stewarded seed supply. We believe that such a seed supply is the foundation of a resilient and sustainable food system.

Mission: The Cleveland Seed Bank's mission is to inspire and educate our community on how to save seeds in an effort to create a sustainable, biodiverse seed supply which supports our local food system.
