Description

Help support foster youth in your community!

Foster Children's Resource Center is 100% run by the Hilltoppersvolunteer group, which raises funds for and operates the center. We are seeking new members to join our group and help us serve more foster youth than we ever have before.

Over 30,000 youth are currently in foster care in Los Angeles.* These children are frequently moved from one home to another during a crisis with only the clothes on their backs. That's where the Foster Children's Resource Center (FCRC) steps in. A program of Assistance League of Los Angeles, FCRC provides emergency clothing and necessities to foster youth from infant to age 21 who are referred by the Department of Children and Family Services.

Located in Northridge, our center outfits over 2,100 children annually. Children receive new clothing, school uniforms, a jacket, pajamas, socks, underwear, personal care items, a backpack, school supplies, books, and a toy. Each child is given personal attention by caring adult volunteers and treated with dignity and respect, helping them to feel special. Social workers, foster parents, and family members report that after visiting FCRC, children experience a boost in self-esteem and improved school attendance and performance.

Join us for a lively open house to learn about ways YOU can support our mission to prepare youth in need for success. Light refreshments will be served.
