Description

Share your passion for reading and help others improve their reading skills!

Read to Learn provides free basic reading classes and individual tutoring for adults in the northwest suburbs. Classes meet once a week during a 10-week semester.

Volunteer tutors receive 12 hours of free training that focuses on one-to-one tutoring with an adult learner. Adult learners come from all walks of life, and many speak English as their second language. All leaners must be able to communicate in English with their tutors. Trained educators are always on site to provide lesson plans, materials, and support.

Classes meet for 2.5 hours per week in schools, libraries, and churches. Choose from 12 convenient locations and morning, afternoon, or evening sessions.
