Environmental conservation and Agricultural Enhancement Uganda (Eco-Agric Uganda) is a Ugandan member Based None Governmental organisation established 2007. It would like to establish partnerships with None Governmental Organisations (NGOs) or any institutions that can support community development work especially the attainment of sustainable Development Goals in Uganda. The organisations and institutions should be based in the UK, USA, Canada, Austria Switzerland and many others. It is looking for a volunteer who can help identify and list these one Governmental Organisations (NGOs) or any institutions get their contacts and help Eco-Agric Uganda approach them to establish partnerships or collaborations.

The volunteer will advise on what should be done, but will not approach the one Governmental Organisations (NGOs) or any institutions. This work can be done online.

Information about the organisation

Name of Organization: The full name / registered name of organization is “Environmental Conservation And Agricultural Enhancement Uganda. The abbreviation is “Eco-Agric Uganda”.


Type & Nature of Organization: Eco-Agric Uganda is a human-centered local non-government, not-for-profit, non-sectarian, non-partisan organization aimed at sustainably improving livelihoods of the vulnerable and less developed people in Uganda.


Year of Establishment

Environmental Conservation and Agricultural Enhancement Uganda (Eco-Agric Uganda) was established in year 2007 as a Community Based organization in Hoima and Wakiso Districts. In 2010, it registered with the Uganda Registrar of companies under the Ministry of internal Affairs (Registration number 115111) and in 2014, it registered with the Uganda NGO Board (Registration number 10414).


Offices/Location: The organisation has well-established offices in Hoima District. Its offices are housed in its own building. It also has a training center annexed to the offices.


Vision: A healthy and empowered population living in a sustainable environment.


Mission: To improve community livelihoods through rights empowerment, sustainable agricultural production; environmental conservation; health education and promotion; economic empowerment and nutrition; skills development; and educational support.


Goal: In a bid to align towards the NDP goal of attaining middle income status by 2020 through strengthening the country’s competitiveness for sustainable wealth creation, employment and inclusive growth, Eco-Agric Uganda’s goal is “to contribute to improved livelihoods of communities and health outcomes”.

Organisation’s values

In the process of delivering on its mandate, Eco-Agric Uganda shall:

•     Foster professionalism in delivery of its services through a dedicated and competent workforce in order to ensure sustainable results among its target population.

•     Be guided by the concept of empathy in order to associate itself with the communities that benefit from our work.

•     Cherish team work where the individual strengths and competences shall constitute the whole for improved service delivery.

•     Be guided by the values of accountability to all our internal and external stakeholders and will ensure transparency in all that we do.

Infrastructure: The organisation has its own offices with a youth training center and volunteers accommodation in Hoima district. It has one vehicle, twenty one motorcycles, twelve laptops, ten desktops with accessories, three cameras, three photocopiers, six printers, a standby generator, and office equipment.


Target Population: Environmental Conservation and Agricultural Enhancement Uganda (Eco-Agric Uganda)’s focus is on the socio-economically disadvantaged groups of women, youth children and the elderly. The focus, amongst these groups, is again on the critically vulnerable and the marginalized people. Eco-Agric Uganda also focuses on the inclusion of minorities and special groups such as widows and physically impaired persons and elderly people.


Organisation’s commitment: Eco-Agric Uganda is committed to the poor vulnerable communities. We aim at providing qualitative and quantitative livelihood improvement services to the vulnerable poor communities with an emphasis on the girls, women, and youth especially vulnerable children. We aim at serving the neediest people of Uganda; to relieve their suffering and to promote the transformation of their condition of life. 

We stand in solidarity with the vulnerable poor communities especially women and children in a common search for justice. We seek to understand the situation of the vulnerable poor communities and work alongside them towards fullness of life.

We seek to facilitate an engagement between the vulnerable poor communities and the affluent that opens both to transformation. We respect the vulnerable poor communities as active participants, not passive recipients, in this relationship. They are people from whom others may learn and receive, as well as give.

Organizations Objectives


Objective 1: To sustainably improve livelihoods of rural poor communities through sustainable commercial farming, environment Protection/conservation and addressing Climate Change Issues.


Objective 2: To contribute to reduction of HIV and AIDS prevalence plus other STD’s while promoting healthy living.


Objective 3: To support rural poor communities (disadvantaged adolescents and youth) access basic education, plus vocational and life skills trainings with special focus on Girls’ Education.


Objective 4: To eliminate gender inequalities in primary and secondary education by promoting equality in education, while ensuring girl’s full and equal access to basic education of good quality.


Objective 5: Promote Gender Equality & Women Empowerment, while addressing Gender Based Violence Issues.


Objective 6: Promote provision of Accessible Clean Drinking Water & Quality sanitation facilities plus improved community physical infrastructure.


Objective 7: Promote Child Protection, Rights of Children & Youth Development and address the issues related to Abuse and Marginalization of Children, Adolescents and Youth.


Objective 8: Advocate for the rights and improved service delivery to women, children, marginalized and key populations
