CMIR is an organization working for the rights of migrant workers and their families. CMIR, having its central office at Kathmandu Nepal, operates all over Nepal and most of the destination countries where Nepalese migrant worker travel for work. Immediate support to distressed migrant workers, educational support to the children of migrant workers, research, evidence-based advocacy, strengthening the international relations of Nepal government are some of the major activity carried out by CMIR.
CMIR offers internship/volunteerism opportunity to national and international students who would like to acquire a real life experience in the field of migration and international relations- specifically of least developing countries. It also provides an opportunity to understand the socio-cultural structure of Nepal where a member of majority of the households has migrant worker(s), especially in the Gulf countries and Malaysia. It also gives interns/volunteers a space to work with migration and international relations experts. At the same time, interns/volunteers are free to explore Nepal, the country of Himalayas, during the weekends and holidays.
