Team: Visual Media

About the Team: The World is Fun is curating a team of amazing people that want to tell the stories of our 175+ Nonprofit Partners through video. While we most certainly welcome those with existing skills, we are also in a unique opportunity to provide training for anyone interested in trying some of the entry-level video production roles. So if you’re excited about gaining skills, we would love to hear from you!

What You'll Do: The cinematographer, sometimes called the camera operator, is comfortable in the camera department. The cinematographer translates the director’s and the team’s vision to capture beautiful and very usable footage. They know which lens, gear and/or tripod is the best match for the goals of the project.

Understands:

  • F-stops
  • Lens focal lengths
  • Stabilization options
  • Shutter speeds
  • Frame rates
  • Shot sizes and angles
  • ISO
  • Composition
  • Rule of thirds
  • Depth of field
  • Being a team player

Time Commitment: This role is a very flexible 8-10 hours a month with one monthly meeting to attend. Our ideal candidate for this role would be seeking an ongoing role for at least two projects or more.

The World is Fun is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to get you involved.
