AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program in which members complete one-year capacity building projects in local communities. NYS Department of State, Division of Community Services is proud to sponsor the Empire Corps VISTA program, in which members help to reduce poverty in sixteen cities across New York State.
In Niagara Falls, the VISTA Member will serve with Catholic Charities of Buffalo. The VISTA member will work directly with the ESPRI Project Director and ESPRI team on community outreach, research, and evaluation for the poverty initiative to build capacity in Phase II Implementation of ESPRI. The VISTA will assist with convening and coordination of the Work Groups, support the efforts of Task Group and Work Group members, support marketing of the initiative, facilitate resident engagement and outreach efforts to recruit resident participants into the process. The VISTA assists with the implementation of evaluation strategies and data collection. The VISTA will support coordination of a mutual data management system for the initiative.
