Description

Close the opportunity gap for middle school students! Be a Mentor! www.higherachievement.org/volunteer

Join us one night a week from 6:00-8:00p at Hammond Middle School, and help make a lasting difference for our middle school scholars during a time when it can impact them the most.

During the school year, our mentors build relationships and work with the same small group of students each week to help guide them to academic success through a provided curriculum in math or English Language Arts.

95% of Higher Achievement graduates finish high school, and 93% go on to college. In an area where 59% finish high school, these results are astounding. By leveraging the power of communities, Higher Achievement’s proven model provides a rigorous summer and afterschool learning environment, caring role models, and a culture of high expectations, resulting in college-bound scholars with the character, confidence, and skills to succeed. Scholars commit to 4 years of the program, and are committed to their academics.
