Description

**If the below opportunity looks of interest, also consider our Shopper Volunteer position, which helps low-vision folk who need groceries and other simple errands. We have a wait list of people needing Shopper volunteers!**

Volunteer as a Reader with Vision Loss Resources. By sharing your time and sharing your eyes, you can help someone live independently!

This is an on-going volunteer opportunity. Volunteers work with a blind or visually impaired partner on a regular basis--usually 1-2 hours every other week. Volunteers help by reading mail, newspapers, letters, or other household paperwork. Volunteers may help with projects: writing thank you notes, organizing files or filling out checks. This is a social connection. You will meet someone new and share part of yourself with them by sharing your time. You can make a direct connection with someone and make a big impact on their life.

This is an easy and flexible volunteer opportunity. Scheduling is flexible! We will match you with someone who lives near you. (We work with clients throughout the Twin Cities.) Mileage reimbursement is available with proof of insurance. Training and support are provided.
