Description

Our program is to bring people from different backgrounds together to build a quality education system for children in schools all around Harare and other rural areas

We are looking for volunteers from around the globe that want to make an impact on our children's education.

About the Program

One of our main focus is to develop the schools to meet the required standard of the education system in Zimbabwe. Most of the schools are underdeveloped and overcrowded with children in rural areas like Sanyati and Wedza.

We are looking for volunteers to support our schools around Harare and other rural areas.

The different Schools

In primary schools, the focus lies on improving the English skills of young children from the age of 3 to 13, so that they can progress on to secondary school. Children in primary schools usually speak very little English, so volunteers need to be able to connect with them using simple teaching methods. Along with teaching English, volunteers in primary schools volunteers can implement other activities into the daily timetable to engage the young minds in creative ways through role-playing, arts and crafts or taking part in stimulating learning games.

In secondary school, volunteers can improve the standard of spoken and written English, of pupils aged between 13 and 17. Volunteers can deepen their knowledge on subjects like mathematics, geography, history, science, computer skills, life skills and so on.

There are also opportunities for volunteers in both primary and secondary schools to run after-school sporting activities, as well as getting involved in wider community development program.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for people who are willing to teach any subject or to simply assist a teacher with his/her class. Our pupils truly love working with the volunteers, so be creative and they will definitely take part.

We don't have a limit on the maximum length of staying in our project, it’s possible to stay with us as long as you want depending on the free time you have to share with us. Plenty of places available.

  • We prefer volunteers to be 18 years +.
  • No gender preference, all backgrounds and all nationalities welcome.
  • Single, friends, couples welcome. If you want to volunteer as a family, run it by us first.

We will make sure we find a class where you can fully utilize your skills, whether you are strong in languages, science or in singing songs with our children.

We will award a certificate of appreciation for end of program for volunteerss to bring people from different backgrounds together to build a quality education system for children in schools all around Harare and other rural areas
