The Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Affairs Council is looking for a Certified Public Accountant willing to provide pro bono services on a quarterly basis. If you are interested in working with a group dedicated to supporting international relations education and informing the public, please reach out to us.
The pro bono accountant will work with our Board and volunteers in three areas:
- Establishing or improving accounting procedures for the organization;
- Compilation of financial records into a certified financial statement for our annual report; and
- Assisting the board in identifying any operational issues of concern and recommending improvements.
Your help will not only protect the financial health of a growing nonprofit, but also help us secure grants and apply for special access privileges at the Organization of American States and United Nations.
The Foreign Affairs Council is a fairly young organization with an annual budget well below $10,000. Transaction records are collected in QuickBooks. The engagement would require no more than 3 to 4 hours per month. Volunteer hours are flexible and may be done remotely.
Interested volunteers must have a CPA certificate and an active license from a state board of accountancy. Prior experience with nonprofit financial management is strongly preferred.
The Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Affairs Council is a foreign policy forum, alumni association, and charitable fund for the Delta Phi Epsilon Professional Foreign Service Fraternity and Sorority. We give scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students and grants to educators, publish a peer-reviewed journal, hold public events featuring Delta Phi Epsilon alumni, and weigh in on issues facing international organizations. Our organization is entirely volunteer-run and supported by member contributions.
