Description

Colorado Water Trust, a conservation nonprofit based in Denver, with a mission to help Colorado rivers in need by using market mechanisms to ensure adequate stream flow, is searching for a Board Treasurer. Position will help guide the organization financially, and function as a member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. As Treasurer, s/he will work closely with the Director of Finance to: ensure the organization’s books meet with standard industry practice; oversee the management and reporting of its finances and present its financial position to the Board; and chair its standing Finance Committee. As a member of the Board of Trustees, the Treasurer will approve organizational budgets, oversee the Executive Director, and contribute to the organization’s activities and fundraising. Position is expected to require roughly 2-3 hours per week, on average. Board meetings are quarterly, Finance Committee and Executive Committee meetings monthly, and meetings do not need to be attended in person. Position is not compensated.
