Marketing & Communications Director Tasks involved in position

Lead the Marketing and Communications Chair to direct the overall comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. Help Lead team to oversee a consistent and active communication strategy to all stakeholders for the purposes of recruitment, program messaging, fundraising, awareness, and branding.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Sits on the executive committee
  • Regularly attends board meetings and important related meetings.
  • Contribute expertise to assist staff in establishing organizational marketing, branding and communication plans and initiatives.
  • Build on current Learning Center brand and develop creative market outreach programs that will drive new business growth.
  • Advise staff on strategies and development for various marketing communications channels and web presences including, electronic/social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc), newsletter, public relations, website and printed collateral.
  • Maintain and build relationships with key industry partners and members of the press in conjunction with staff efforts.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives both internally and externally and provide support to the Development and Marketing team as needed.
  • Identify key speaking engagements for staff and community to help market and brand the center.
  • Prepares monthly Board Report and submits to Secretary prior to meeting for full board review.
