Volunteer Position Description

The Newsletter Editor will be responsible for producing our quarterly E-Newsletter Anike News using the online newsletter platform MailChimp. The content includes updates on our programs, new programs, communication needs of our volunteers and relevant topics for our friends and supporters. 

Hands-on Roles and Responsibilities:

·       Produce the quarterly e-Newsletter Anike News using the online tool MailChimp.

·       Coordinate periodic online planning meetings to determine content for upcoming issues. 

·       Follow up with content contributors as needed. 

·       Collaborate with the Public Relations Officer, the President and volunteers as needed.

·       Develop article ideas and write articles as needed.

·       Proofread and edit article submissions as needed.

·       Assist with selecting and uploading images, scheduling and social media sharing as needed.

·       Assist Wix Website Coordinator with generating MailChimp code for website as needed.

Core Competencies include:

·       Sound knowledge in Computer. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

·       Create artistic ideas in layout and design within professional limits

·       Use Microsoft Office software, Printshop and Adobe Acrobat.

·       Time management and meeting deadlines.

·       Organized, good communicator, writing skills.

·       Motivated, strong initiative, ability to work independently.

·       Dependable follow through, time management.

·       Excellent editing and writing skills.

·       Highly organized and collaborative.

·       Ability to take initiative, dependability, flexibility and resourcefulness.

·       Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
