Description

Albany Park Community Center is looking for tutors to help our ESL (English as a Second Language) and ABE/GED (Adult Basic Education) students as they study! The majority of our tutors will be placed with beginning learners.

We offer a free, mandatory Tutor Training that you must attend in order to become paired with a student. The training takes place over the course of two Saturdays. We also ask that you meet either twice a week for two hours each session, or once a week for three hours at a time, for a minimum of 15 weeks, as we like to offer a tutor who can match with a student for the entirety of their semester.

We also have Citizenship Program Tutor positions available for those who are unable to attend training. No training is required for the Citizenship Program, and tutors may start immediately.

Thank you for your interest in promoting education and literacy in the Chicago area.
