Tomorrow's Leaders NYC is a non-profit organization that was established to help over-age middle school students who reside in New York City overcome social, emotional, and academic challenges to become positive leaders of society. We provide academic support, mentoring, family support, and vocational workshops. An over-age student is one who has to repeat a school grade one or more times.
We are currently seeking a pro-bono grant writer to help the organization in the area of fundraising. The grant writer will be responsible to research grants, follow up with grant funding opportunities that have been identified, and write grant proposals. Grant writer is expected to send out at least 15 grant proposals between July 1 and October 1. Average is five per month, grant proposals of $20,000 or more. Grant writer will be compensated $3,000 (50% at the beginning of the writing period, and the remaining 50% at the end of the writing period).
Attention to detail, accuracy, organization, project management, and writing skills are key. All proposals are drafted and then reviewed by Executive Director and Development consultant.
Work at home or at our East New York office and attend monthly Fundraising Committee meetings.
Interested candidates must send cover letter, resume, and one writing sample (preferably a proposal, research write up, or persuasive write up) to firstname.lastname@example.org
