Description

Animal Care Sanctuary (ACS), is a No Kill shelter located in East Smithfield and Wellsboro. ACS has been rescuing animals for over 50 years. On any given day, hundreds of dogs and cats are in residence. They come from owner surrenders, closing or overrun shelters, areas hit by disaster, or are abandoned, mistreated or have special needs.

In it’s ongoing efforts to save more animals, the Animal Care Sanctuary (ACS )is expanding it’s foster program. ACS is looking for additional foster families to take animals into their homes and help with subsequent adoption efforts.

Fostering an animal helps ACS learn more about each animal so that they can find their perfect home. It also frees up space in the shelter to rescue another animal.

Fostering is a truly rewarding experience. The perspective of Jerene, one of the ACS fosters had this to say about her foster experience;“We find it richly rewarding to work with a foster animal. We get excited to know that this animal is soon going to be placed in a perfectly suited home after learning what a normal lifestyle is, and that makes our hearts happy.”
