Female volunteers are needed in Haiti for two centers where abused women live, receive comprehensive training, ongoing counseling support and high quality care to severely emotionally disturbed, abused and neglected girls and women. We have workshops as a healing tool for battered women.
We are a comprehensive domestic violence intervention program with a strong education component that is focused on ensuring that the victims become self-sufficient.
Save Their Lives is always looking for dynamic facilitators to teach classes on a variety of subjects in ways that empower, educate and motive.
Volunteers are needed as tutors, counselors, special friends and playgroup buddies. Volunteers should be at least 20 years of age and willing to commit at least three months of service either daytime, evening or weekend.
By providing an environment that promotes healing, our workshops help women and children to develop a renewed sense of hope and possibility that profoundly impacts future decisions regarding the direction of their lives, their relationships, and how to stay safe.
We empower survivors to transform how they view themselves, allowing them to see past the abusive messages they learned from their batterers and rebuild their self-confidence.
Volunteers also assist staff with various tasks. They interact with the victims and visitors, handle information desk and deliver meals.
$350.00/week/person - $1100.00/month Cost includes accommodation, food, laundry and local transportation. 1/3 of that money is used to fund our projects.
Transportation (airfare) to Haiti is arranged and paid for by the volunteer.
