Be a part of a statewide network of AmeriCorps VISTA Fellows by serving in the Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative (ESPRI).
Work with the City of Albany and CARES, Inc. to implement and assist the City of Albany’s Poverty Reduction Initiative program. Review and update evaluation metrics and evaluate the program’s success. Organize and lead poverty reduction initiative programming throughout the City of Albany. The City of Albany Poverty Reduction Initiative will bring together city department representatives, local businesses, and neighborhood leaders to develop strategies to reduce poverty in the City of Albany. Work with CARES, Inc. ESPRI Director and Task Force and city departments to conduct neighborhood outreach and encourage residents to participate in projects. Prepare and deliver reports and provide regular updates to ESPRI Director, CARES, Inc., ESPRI Task Force, City of Albany. Work with Mayor Sheehan’s communications team to publicize the City of Albany’s Poverty Reduction Initiative.
