EduCARE India’s Forestry projects encompass a wide range of objectives, from health security to integrate micro-finance initiatives, from social forestry to wild-forests conservation. We work in environmentally significant areas that are heavily depended on by the communities with which we work. We are working towards developing sustainable programmes that protect natural forests, establish communal forests and foster interest in social forestry. Promoting environmental education and creating networks between the community and government officials are a key asset to the success of our projects. We are continuously looking for self-motivated individuals to bring their expertise and enthusiasm to our current projects and we offer creative freedom for those looking to develop their own ideas.

Current Projects:

  • Engaging the community in planting and protecting trees in a land slide prone area
  • Establishing nurseries and experimenting with growing seeds to provide health security and microfinance opportunities for families
  • Developing a needs assessment for communities living adjacent to the significant Harike Wetland
  • Establishing ayrurvedic workshops and gardens to help women engage themselves with self help objectives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Studies or/ experience or/ interest in forestry or environmental conservation or project management or development
  • Ability to plan workload and managed time effectively
  • Ability to plan and manage projects simultaneously
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Interest in development

Period and Time:

3 month commitment required, 6 months preferred

  • New project proposals are encouraged for interns staying for at least six months


This is an unpaid internship. After 6 months, you are able to apply for a 1-year fellowship, which will include a negotiated monthly/quarterly stipend. Accommodation, Internet/Electricity/Water bills and work transportation are covered by the organization.
