Centro Latino Americano empowers Latino families by providing opportunity and building bridges for a stronger community.
The Centro Latino Youth Mentoring Program serves at-risk Latino youth ages 12 - 18. The goal of the program is to increase the youth's community engagement, develop their pro-social skills, increase their self confidence, and connect them with resources. These goals are achieved by offering one-on-one mentor relationships to the youth. Mentors help youth find and explore their strengths.
Mentors spend at least 6 hours per month with their mentees partaking in free or low-cost activities of their choice in the Eugene/Springfield area. Mentors commit to the program for the length of the school year (9 months, from September to June). Mentors and mentees are also invited to group outings in the community each month.
