Description

Community Legal Services and Counseling Center (CLSACC) is a nonprofit agency in Cambridge, Massachusetts which provides affordable psychotherapy to under-insured and uninsured adults with low incomes in the greater Boston area. (The center also provides free legal services). CLSACC's experienced staff serve as mentors to volunteer clinicians.

A growing number of clients seen at the center are immigrants and refugees. CLSACC seeks qualified volunteers clinicians to work collaboratively with the center's immigration attorneys, performing evaluations documenting the effects of violence and torture on legal clients seeking legal status in the United States. The center trains licensed clinicians to perform these evaluations. Typically a volunteer in tyhis capacity will do a few evaluations each year.

The center also seeks volunteers who are trained clinicians (psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors). Typically a volunteer sees 3-5 adult clients, usually on a weekly basis.

Independently licensed clinicians (LICSWs and Licensed Psychologists) are also needed to provide clinical supervision (one or two supervisory hours/week in your private office or at the center).

Volunteers who see clients for psychotherapy commit to a minimum of 4 hours/week for a period of one year. The center's hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9 AM - 5 PM, and Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 AM - 8:30 PM.
