Description

Pack your camera and come join us for the 11th International Photo Marathon in Iceland!

Our main objective is to deliver messages and draw the attention of the local population through pictures and photos made during the project. Participants will base their entries on topics related to intercultural understanding, peace & environment. The best pictures will be selected for a final exhibit. The last part of the project will be putting up the exhibition.

In this project we will organize a night photography and Aurora hunting (Northern lights) workshop in the countryside in the close vicinity of Reykjavik. This will take place during late evening and possibly into the night. We will choose a night according to the Aurora forecast by the Icelandic meteorological office. It is possible that we do not see any northern lights during the trip but we will in any case organize the night photography workshop. Please note, we cannot guarantee that you will see northern lights as solar activity is irregular and it depends on weather and meteorological conditions.

The project combines learning, sharing, exploring Reykjavík, hunting for Aurora and having fun. Participants should also use this opportunity to share something about their own culture, such as food, music, and films with the international group.
