Description

Jack Houghteling is a young progressive, North Brooklyn-based candidate who is trying to get on the ballot for State Senate in District 18. You can read more about his campaign on his website: http://jackfornewyork.com/.

He is currently accepting applications from registered democrats in the state of New York to volunteer for his campaign. This is a great opportunity for college students (and even seniors in high school) passionate to make a change who are looking for grassroots campaigning experience, whether it be in organizing, fundraising, media and messaging or policy.

Spanish fluency is a plus.

Hired candidates will attend meetings around the community and will learn more about the community and civic engagement as a whole. After petitioning ends in mid-July, there may be opportunities to join the team.

Daily tasks will include canvassing, speaking with constituents and collecting signatures, attending local meetings, phonebanking and other campaign responsibilities.

Time commitment is anywhere between 3 hours to full-time and will occur on weekdays and weekends.

This is an unpaid position.
