Global Medicare Foundation is accepting is seeking a volunteer Community Program Coordinator for their newly created office in Eyumojock village covering 66 other villages. The pipe borne diseases, early pregnancy, early school drop outs, HIV/STDs, poor hygiene and sanitation, absence of potable drinking water etc prompted GMF to extend her reach in this area which is located in remote villages with the quasi absence of health care facilities. The Community Programs Coordinator (CPC) will coordinate operations of GMF in these villages along side local volunteers and local stakeholders. This will include facilitating communication between villagers, local health experts and local administrators. This position provides program support, analysis, development, and evaluation. This is a long-term non-permanent position. The selected applicant will initially be scheduled to work 36 hours per week.
Coordinate daily operations of Global Medicare Foundation; work with local health experts, schools, village women and youth groups and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of Public Health project; Facilitate administrative meetings; provide the village chiefs and village councils with information necessary to ensure efficient and effective operations of the project activities; Serve as direct contact within the villages project beneficiaries and chief; Train local villagers on approaches designed by GMF to reduce high prevalence of early pregnancies and school drop outs for young girls; Conduct research in the form of one on one interviews on the reason behind the high early pregnancy rate and high school dropout rate especially for young girls below the age 16; Supervise and manage interns and community volunteers as assigned; Collect and input data critical for program operations and outcome evaluations; Write and submit monthly reports to the GMF head office in Buea; Design and implement project activities as need may arise; Write informational materials for public distribution; With supervisory approval, perform community education and outreach by making regular presentations to community entities; Develop program and educational materials as needed;
Undertake any other activities falling within the framework of GMF's activities in the villages.
