Description

At Heartland Hospice, volunteers are a vital component to providing quality care to hospice patients and families. By becoming a patient volunteer, you will provide much needed companionship to patients that may not have friends and family that are able to spend personal time with them. Often times, sitting with someone and holding their hand or listening to them tell their story can mean more than anything.

Patient volunteers provide a number of services to our patients. A few examples are: reading, watching tv or movies, playing games, pushing their wheelchair outside to enjoy the day, listening to music, listening to the patient's story, or holding their hand. However, the sky is the limit in how you can provide support and brighten a patient's day.

Volunteering is based around your schedule. You can put as little as 2 hours per week or as much time as you would like to volunteer. Giving your time to another person is an rewarding experience.
