Description

Our volunteer program provides many different services in support of Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind (CLB) and its community. CLB’s volunteers attend orientations which include sensitivity training, human guide education, and additional information about CLB. Volunteers are required to complete an application, submit two completed reference forms from non-family members, and pass a background check.


Volunteer Opportunities


One-on-One

Adult volunteers in the one-on-one program are matched with adults who are blind or visually impaired to assist with daily activities such as reading mail, grocery shopping, or running errands.


Special Events

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with special events such as fundraisers, exhibits, and summer camp.


Office Support

Volunteer support is periodically needed to assist CLB staff with assembly and distribution of event and donor information, data entry, and other office projects.
