We all have a need for insight that is outside of our normal life and educational experience. The power of mentoring is that it creates a one-of-a-kind opportunity for collaboration, problem solving, and goal achievement.
Created by a group of community leaders from Frederick, Maryland, Woman to Woman Mentoring (W2WM) is a local 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to cultivate mentoring relationships that provide women with guidance, support, and community connections.
Through its programming, W2WM strives to strengthen, enrich, and empower women by offering access to one-on-one mentoring relationships, group peer mentoring circles, social enterprise experiences, and community connections.
In our CORE Program, we match young women between the ages of 18-35 years old, in an inter-generational relationship with a volunteer mentor. The mentoring pair works together one-on-one and join together as a community on a monthly basis to share life experiences in our “life skill” workshops. Our goal is to cultivate new relationships that support increased confidence, self-sufficiency, and connection to our community.
In addition to our CORE Mentorship Program, we added 2 additional programs in 2018 that we also need mentors to be apart of including, Mentoring Circles and Women in STEM Mentorship Program (https://www.womantowomanmentoring.org/programs/women-in-stem/).
