Description

CADIP aims with this project to improve the reaction skills of the children and teenagers of Yeviepe through school support and games based on reflection and cultural entertainment. This project is also meant to encourage and promote the activities happening in the new library of the village, and to get the local young students to understand the value of the tools provided to them for their own development.

The activities will be divided in two parts:

- The first part will be dedicated to courses intended to help the students of the primary and the high school, especially in the subjects in which they have more difficulties. The volunteers will help in teaching French (reading, writing, verb conjugation, oral and written composition, etc.), calculation (Math), and also some other subjects to the older students (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, etc.).

- The second part will be dedicated to games and entertainment activities, which will be held in the village library (reading contests, drawing, singing and dancing).

Yéviépé is located 12 km from the town of Kpalimé, on the road to Nyivé village, not far from the border with Ghana. It is surrounded by Kpadapé to the North, Kalakala to the East, Nyivé to the South and Womé to the West. With a population of about 3000 inhabitants, Yéviépé is a very welcoming village. It was founded in the late 18th century. The population is essentially composed of farmers occupied in the cultivation of maize, beans, cassava, yams and rice. The village has a large number of children and young people of school age. There is a kindergarten, a primary school and a college welcoming students from six neighboring villages. The traditional town festival is held annually in August and brings together the entire village population. The village is also remarkable with its natural environment, its cultural diversity and rich history which you'll be able to discover!
