Primary Purpose

Spence-Chapin’s Adoption Mentorship Program connects middle and high school adoptees to adult adoptees to engage in fun interactive activities, conversations, and reflections. Through participation in monthly educational and social outings, Mentors serve as positive role models who can share their adoption story and experiences while encouraging Mentees to ask questions, feel comfortable with their identities and develop healthy self-esteem. Mentors help create an inclusive and safe space for Mentees to discuss any and all topics including identity, adoption history, and relationships.

Some previous activities have included ice skating, trips to aquariums and zoos, and classes on painting, fencing, pasta-making, mask-making, and more.
