Full time (30+ hrs/wk)
Short-Term (few weeks/months)
Carry out volunteer work in a small village in Nepal near the capital city of Kathmandu with CADIP.
We also believe that our volunteers benefit a lot from staying in Daman. Living in a completely different culture with local hosts and adjusting to their conditions is an unforgettable experience. Teaching locals to think in new and different ways is to their benefit, learning from their unique way of life is yours.
Volunteers will be involved in the reconstruction of the community center affected by the huge earthquake in April 2015, teaching in the school by games and sports, and education on disaster prevention. If the funds for reconstruction are insufficient, the main work will be education, although some work related to the construction can still be done.
Moreover, volunteers will help with the construction of a community house. It is meant to provide space for events, like marriages and community meetings. But the space can be used in a variety of ways.
- September 16 - September 29, 2018
- January 6 - January 19, 2019
- February 6 - February 19, 2019
All volunteers are requested to participate in an orientation meeting in Kathmandu on the day before the project starts. All volunteers will travel together from Kathmandu to the project place.
Accommodation: In Daman, the volunteers have the unique opportunity to stay with a local family. Authentic Nepali food like Dal Bhat (a soup of lentil or beans with boiled rice) and Tarkari (cooked vegetables) will be served.
