Description

Join Energy Tech High School in preparing the next generation of STEM professionals! We are recruiting 1-on-1 mentors for our recent high school graduates (13th & 14th grade students) that are currently taking classes at LaGuardia Community College toward an Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. As a mentor, you will meet with your student for at least 2 hours a month, either at your work site or LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, Queens. The mentoring period will begin at the beginning of November until June 2019.

We believe that your every day work experience as an industry professional, and the real life journey it took to get to where you are is a valuable insight for our students who are preparing for similar pathways and positions. As you share your experiences and prepare our students to be desirable job candidates, we will work together for our future workforce to be ready for the increasing demand in the STEM field!

Looking for: Industry Professionals or Graduate Students in the STEM field (concentration in electrical and mechanical engineering is a major plus!)
