The "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County is a local non-profit that works to empower students from low income communities to succeed in school, college, and career by providing academic, social, and emotional support from elementary school through college. We currently are serving over 600 Dreamer Scholars between the grades of 1st and 12th in Boulder Valley and St Vrain Valley School Districts.

“I Have A Dream” is seeking an individual to work with its fifth grade class of Dreamer Scholars in Frederick, CO. The independent contractor will lead a group of 10-17 boys in once-a-month programming focused on engaging them in activities and discussions that foster leadership, character-building and positive behavior. This individual will be a leader and mentor to a consistent group of boys for the fall and spring semesters. Pay is DOE.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Behavior management of 10-17 boys age 10 and 11
  • Support staff with Dreamer family and parent communication, passing on any information or individual student updates as necessary
  • Provide academic and emotional support to individual Dreamer Scholars


  • Bilingual or proficient in Spanish preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Patience working with groups of children
  • Positive male role model and mentor for low income fifth-grade boys
  • Some background with in-school or after-school programs
  • At least a high school diploma


  • Follow and execute “Passport to Manhood” curriculum
  • Lead 9 2-hour sessions once per month in fall and spring, 3:30pm-5:30pm
