Art Installation Volunteers for Cultural Project
- Volunteer Opportunity posted by Art Resource Collaborative for Kids
1 City Hall Square
Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK) is a 501(c)3 arts education nonprofit that works in the Boston Public Schools. The organization seeks volunteers to assist at our student-created, interactive art installation entitled “I Am...You” using a repurposed shipping container. “I Am...You” is part of HUBweek, a festival that celebrates the intersection of art, science, and tech. The installation uses fiber art, projection, and text to explore the themes of identity and community in the context of students’ lived experiences and family histories. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in art or education to be part of an exciting project that empowers Boston middle school students to have a public voice in their community.
ARCK seeks volunteers to help out in shifts on either of the four days. Volunteers would be responsible for guiding visitors through the installation and showing them how to participate, photographing mural process, and helping set up and take down the installation each day. The minimum time commitment on any of these days is 4 hours; you may sign up for more than one shift. This event takes place in Boston's City Hall Plaza.
