Position Description

The Tacoma Pride Festival (TPF) is a series of cultural events celebrating the LGBTQ community in Pierce County and beyond. Rainbow Center stewards the festival and produces the largest event – Tacoma Pride Day. We seek a social media volunteer who shares our commitment to creating and expanding safe space for the LGBTQ community through education, advocacy, and celebration to manage the Tacoma Pride Festival’s social media presence leading up to and during the 2019 Festival.

Responsibilities

·        Create a social media strategy and calendar to promote TPF.

·        Ensure TPF meets our social media commitments to sponsors and partners.  

·        Develop engaging content on TPF’s social media accounts.

·        Strategically connect with relevant social media discourses and campaigns. (For example, other regional and national Pride events).

·        Analyze post performance and adjust strategy to maximize TPF exposure.

Qualifications

·        Passion for and investment in social justice and serving the LGBTQA community.

·        Strong social media skills. Experience managing Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter profiles.

·        Ability to work independently and take initiative

·        Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

The Tacoma Pride Social Media Volunteer is required to have availability throughout the week of the Tacoma Pride Festival, July 12 – 21, 2019.
