About Manchester Community College:

Manchester Community college is a public, 2-year institution hosting a VISTA member in Student Retention Services located in the division of Student Affairs. This cross-departmental effort is designed to build MCC’s capacity to keep students who might otherwise stop-out or drop-out on track to achieve their educational and career goals. In year-two, the CCSNE VISTA will help define next steps in the system to identify why students stop-out and how to keep them in school.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data collection and evaluation
  • Serve as liaison between students and campus community
  • Attend committee meetings on and off-campus
  • Work with various college departments to create data collection system
  • Review data and reports


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2- or 4- year college degree (background knowledge of data collection software)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to different work environments
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Positive attitude and dedication to collaboration with diverse groups
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of student development theory and social science research methods
  • Interest in working on a college campus in student affairs

  4. Within a week of submitting your completed application and materials, you’ll be contacted by the CCSNE VISTA recruitment team concerning next steps.
  5. If selected to move forward, you’ll complete a phone interview with two members of the CCSNE recruitment team. This interview is an opportunity for you to get to know our program better and for our team to determine whether you’re a good fit for the 2018-2019 CCSNE corps.
  6. Finally, if accepted to the CCSNE VISTA program, you will be placed at a host site based on your professional skills, interests and regional preference.
