Description

The Arizona Historical Society Library and Archives in Tucson is seeking volunteers with library experience to assist researchers at the reference desk. This includes checking in researchers and explaining procedures; helping with catalog searches; retrieving historic documents, photographs, books, and other materials for use in the reading room; and making copies for researchers. Ideal candidates are year-round residents in the Tucson area with reference experience in libraries or archives, knowledge of Arizona and western history, and are able to commit to one 3 hour shift each week during hours that the library is open, Tuesday through Friday from 9am-4pm. Volunteers can park in the Main Gate garage for free and take advantage of many educational opportunities and programs at the Arizona Historical Society.
