Purpose: Assist staff in performing timely processing of deposits, check requests, recording of electronic transactions, and reconciliation of financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Record online transactions in organization’s accounting software (Quickbooks)
  • Process check requests
  • Research accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies and present to staff to address
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
  • Update training materials and documentation of bookkeeping processes as needed
  • Process regular payroll functions


The candidate must have:

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to follow established procedures
  • A willingness to ask for help to ensure accuracy in entering transactions and following procedures
  • The ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Solid reliability and organizational skills
  • A high school degree

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to problem solve and troubleshoot basic financial/accounting issues
  • Quickbooks experience
  • An understanding of basic accounting procedures
  • Previous bookkeeping experience
  • Some college courses


Training and Staff Support: Training will be provided. ICPJ’s Director and Administrative and Program Support Specialist will assign tasks and be available to answer questions and provide guidance and direction.

Time Commitment: 1-4 hours every other week on average, flexible scheduling during work day, 12 month minimum commitment required
