Description

Walnut Creek Village is one of a group of 200+ established and more than 150 forming Villages throughout the country. We are a community within a community led by older adults who share their skills, support and expertise with each other to navigate the challenges and opportunities of aging. We provide volunteers to assist with driving, gardening, pet sitting, and other small tasks that become harder to handle as we age. Rather than a physical location where people live, a Village is a dynamic association of people helping one another to age in their own homes and community. We are based in Walnut Creek, CA.


Walnut Creek Village opened on September 25, 2017. We are looking for an Office Manager to join our team.The Office Manager manages the infrastructure of Walnut Creek Village. 


Location of Work

WCV uses a “Virtual Office” for operations. The Office Manager will work at home or other location of his/her choice and attend meetings and events in the Walnut Creek area.


Responsibilities

·      Develop, manage and maintain office policies and procedures

·      Manage Human Resources: Technical Specialist, Webmaster, Office Support Volunteers

·      Manage all service requests from members


Qualifications 

·      Prior successful experience as an office administrator or operations manager 

·      Successful track record developing, implementing, and managing processes and procedures

·      Ability to set and manage to standards for response time to members’ requests

·      Strong management and leadership skills and experience


Support

·      Members of the Executive Committee will orient the Office Manager to the Village and the role

·      Training on the WCV database and other relevant resources will also be provided


The Office Manager has a key role in keeping the Village running smoothly and sustaining its operation. The Village exists for the benefit of members. The Office Manager defines the service levels provided to members and ensures that they are met. This is an opportunity to continue to develop an outstanding support resource for members.
