Transport an elder to her Beauty Shop appointment, join in with an elder at the “Now We Drum” drum circle, or get involved with an elder’s project in the art studio. We offer a variety of choices for a challenging, enjoyable, and rewarding volunteer experience that allows for career exploration, an opportunity to learn new skills, and social involvement. Volunteers can maintain the library, work in the gift shop, transport residents to appointments and activities at the Home, and assist with fun events, such as games and clubs. Our volunteers are crucial to our elder’s happiness and well-being, providing welcome companionship and a helping hand. As a way to thank our St. John’s Home volunteers for their generosity, we offer free meals in our cafeteria, free ice cream at the ice cream shop, and flu shots for volunteers age 21 and over. And all St. John’s volunteers are invited to enjoy our biannual Volunteer Recognition events.
Hours and days are flexible and include evenings and weekends. To make sure you feel comfortable and prepared to assist in activities and programs, our Volunteer Coordinator, Sandy Ferguson, is happy to provide the level of training you need. For more information, contact Sandy Ferguson at (585)760-1293 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
