Description

Our in-school disability awareness program is a powerful three hour character building workshop. We guide students through experiences in which they build life skills that enable them to understand and relate to people with disabilities. Our ATOU team travels throughout the Sacramento region bringing this program to schools. We present to schools mainly in Placer, El Dorado, & Sacramento Counties, as well as a few surrounding areas.

The demand for our program is growing and we are currently looking to expand our volunteer family. Our agency was created 21 years ago in Granite Bay by Leslie DeDora and has now served over 104,000 students. We are currently in need of activity instructors and assistants as well as speakers with disabilities.

We present our workshops most Wed, Thurs, & Fri mornings at a different school each day. Each volunteer would choose which workshops they are available to attend based on location and time.
